About MarketplaceExit

Hi, I’m Shaddam Hossain.

I’m an entrepreneur, software builder, and ecommerce developer with more than 12 years of experience building websites, Shopify stores, WordPress products, and online businesses.

I didn’t start my career writing about ecommerce.

I started by building it.

For years, I worked as a web developer helping businesses launch websites, improve online stores, solve technical problems, and migrate between platforms. During that time, I completed hundreds of client projects and earned more than 210 five-star reviews on Fiverr.

As I gained more experience, I started building products instead of only building websites for clients.

Today, I’m the founder of TLinky, a platform that helps businesses create short links, QR codes, bio pages, and online tools. I’m also the creator of SkyBootstrap, my WordPress plugin brand. One of my WordPress plugins is used on more than 200,000 WordPress websites.

Everything I’ve learned from client work, product development, and ecommerce eventually led to MarketplaceExit.

Why MarketplaceExit Exists

Over the years, I noticed the same pattern again and again.

Many successful marketplace sellers eventually reached a point where they wanted more control over their business.

Etsy sellers wanted to build a stronger brand.

Amazon sellers wanted to own their customer relationships.

eBay sellers wanted to stop depending on a single marketplace.

TikTok Shop sellers wanted an online store they could fully control.

Most of them weren’t asking whether Shopify was popular.

They were asking practical questions.

How difficult is the migration?

Will I lose my products or customer data?

What happens to my search rankings?

How much will it cost?

Is now the right time to move?

When I looked for answers online, I found plenty of articles, but very few explained the migration process from a marketplace seller’s perspective.

Many guides repeated official documentation.

Others compared features without discussing the challenges sellers actually face during a migration.

I created MarketplaceExit to close that gap.

The goal is simple.

Provide practical, well-researched guidance that helps marketplace sellers make informed decisions before moving to Shopify.

What You’ll Find Here

MarketplaceExit focuses on one topic.

Helping marketplace sellers build an independent Shopify business.

Most of the content on this website is written for sellers moving from:

  • Etsy
  • Amazon
  • eBay
  • TikTok Shop

Here you’ll find resources covering topics like:

  • Marketplace to Shopify migration guides
  • Migration checklists
  • Shopify setup after migration
  • Marketplace fee comparisons
  • Migration tools and apps
  • SEO considerations
  • Common migration mistakes
  • Building an independent ecommerce brand

Every guide is written with one question in mind:

What does a marketplace seller need to know before moving to Shopify?

How I Create Content

My background is in building websites and ecommerce products, not publishing content for search engines.

That experience shapes how every article on MarketplaceExit is written.

Whenever possible, I combine practical experience with information from official platform documentation.

If I reference pricing, platform policies, or technical limitations, I verify them using the official source before publishing.

If I can’t verify something with confidence, I don’t present it as fact.

When important information changes, I update the content so it stays accurate.

I also welcome corrections. If you spot an error, let me know through the Contact page. I’ll review it and update the article if needed.

How MarketplaceExit Makes Money

MarketplaceExit is reader supported.

Some articles include affiliate links. If you decide to start a Shopify store through one of those links, I may earn a referral commission at no additional cost to you.

That never changes my recommendations.

In fact, there are situations where I recommend staying on your current marketplace because moving to Shopify is not always the right decision.

My goal is to help you choose the option that makes the most sense for your business, even if that means not migrating yet.

Editorial Principles

Every article published on MarketplaceExit follows a few simple principles.

  • Experience comes before opinions.
  • Facts should be verified whenever possible.
  • Official sources are preferred for pricing and platform policies.
  • If something cannot be verified, it should not be presented as fact.
  • Content should help readers solve real problems, not simply rank in search engines.
  • Corrections are made when mistakes are found.

These principles help keep the content useful, trustworthy, and focused on real ecommerce sellers.

Let’s Build Something You Own

Selling on marketplaces is a great way to start an ecommerce business.

For many sellers, it’s also the first step toward building something bigger.

If you’re thinking about moving from Etsy, Amazon, eBay, or TikTok Shop to Shopify, I hope MarketplaceExit helps you understand your options, avoid costly mistakes, and make informed decisions.

Whether you decide to migrate now or later, my goal is the same.

To help you build a business that you own, not one that depends entirely on someone else’s platform.

Thanks for visiting MarketplaceExit.
